Who We are, the Acupuncture medic

About your TCM Practitioner
Chelo Maria found Chinese Medicine at Emperor’s College due to condition that led to an interest in nutrition and she continued her studies at Alhambra Medical University, in Los Angeles, California. Initially she was searching for health alternatives through nutrition. She was inspired by Dr. Blue, her chiropractic doctor, who answered her once, “ I won’t heal you. I will support your body to recover its health.”
In my process of recovering from an arterious malformation, I searched to maintain my health, intentionally and being productive. In addition to developing empathy, I acknowledged being dependente on my environment and on the people around me. I also learned that a patient can be her best doctor too.
My interest on health, nutrition/cooking changed my life when I visited a Chinese medicine college and said " I want to attend there". I started a marathon that has lasted ten+ years. I traveled to Japan and visited an integrated university of acupuncture and conventional medicine. There I saw the possibilities of this medicine and I inserted my first acupuncture needle. Then I practiced Tai Qi and Qi Gong and I volunteered at an herb garden, to “land” in this path. I grew with the challenges, supported by my Nichiren Buddhist practice. With it I raise my life condition daily. My goals are to be more human, taking action to live happy and without regrets. I practice listening and being present for my patients to get their best results.
After getting a Master's degree in the Art and Science of Chinese Medicine, I returned to Mexico in 2021 and studied at CETEOH and got certified as a Superior Acupuncture Technician. I cook a bit more and practice TCM in El Arenal, Jalisco, close to nature and not far from Guadalajara.

Diagnosis and Treatment with Chinese Integral Medicine

A distinct feature of Chinese medicine is diagnosis through observation, palpation and listening. Based on different factors and taking into account the whole person, we create and individualized treatment. Diagnosis and treatment in Chinese medicine is based on systems, not just treating one organ. In this practice we use acugraphy, a method of diagnosis by taking pulses of wrist and ankles with special software. this includes reports and a nutritional plan for the patient to continue the treatment at home. We use different modalities such as electro stimulation, moxibustion, cupping, auriculotherapy, promoting optimal function of the body’s systems, avoiding side effects of conventional treatment and supporting patients with their health goals.

 What We Do

We practice a medicine with ancestral methods that promote health through restoring circulation and body function. In addition to using millenary techniques, we integrate conventional western diagnosis and special software to provide an efective and updated treatment to patients. Our treatments are also preventive, increase body immunology and promote improved body function.

 Cause of Disease

  • Excess emotions may debilitate the body and make us susceptible to the elements of cold or heat or damp. A patient may also have immunological or constitutional deficiency.
  • The theory of electric EQi posits that every illness or deficiency in the body is caused by a deficiency of electric Qi.

 Adjunct Acupuncture Modalities

Auriculotherapy, Cupping, Moxibustion, Guasha, Tuina (in addition to lifestyle recommendations -Nutrition & Tai Ji /Qi Gong).

 Diet and Lifestyle

These health methods work best if the patient implements a healthy diet and exercising lifestyle. Drink enough water, avoid sugar and eat plenty of dark green leafy veggies. Tai Chi / Chi Gong Moving Meditation - heals, relaxes and promotes flexibility.
